Toke Constantin Hebbeln's film "NimmerMeer" has won a student academy award in the category "Best Foreign Film". The film uses lyrical images to recount a fantastic parable about the coming of age and the power of dreams and was made in collaboration with Frisbeefilms.

The Pearce Sisters, directed by Luis Cook, has fought off strong competition to win this year’s European Association of Animation Film Cartoon d’Or in Girona. The Cartoon d'Or is the only European prize specific to the animation film industry.

This award is unique in that it is based on the 10 most important European festivals. Indeed, only the European films recompensed at these 10 European Festivals for animation film are allowed to compete for the Cartoon d'Or.

CARTOON, with the support of the MEDIA Programme of the European Union,conceived the Cartoon d'Or as springboard : this important trophy willbe awarded together with a financial aid, to be used by the winningdirector to start a new an more ambitious project, such as feature filmor a TV-special.

The Cartoon d’Or is the newest addition to The Pearce Sisters’ trophycollection, including the Special Jury Award at Annecy, plus the GrandPrix and Best Art Direction Award at Platform Festival.
